The beetle is a heavy wooden mallet (or hammer) that is used in just about every raising. Anthony was caught in motion as he used the beetle to persuade a glulam timber into place on a project in New York. We have several beetle mallets, all weighing between 20 to 30 pounds, sized around 12"x12"x6" on various length handles. A 'must have' tool of our trade.
