The post bottoms on this project are a hybrid of structure and aesthetics; good design and solid engineering. The split timber posts, through bolts, and steel knife plate offer visual interest as well as satisfy the stringent engineering requirements. Through the use of this steel connector we have the ability to secure the 10x10 timber post system to the floor framing and translate gravity, lateral, torsional, and uplift loading into the floor system.
