The king post/rafter/ridge intersection of this Lake Oswego, OR frame was crafted from as-found industrial timbers. Each joint was hand-scribed and pre-assembled. The as-found condition of the timbers and the hand-scribed joinery means there will be little to no gapping caused by shrinkage - the joints will look the same for decades!
