This project located in Lone Jack, MO, required a unique design from our team in order to meet the needs of the homeowners and to integrate with an existing barn on the property. The barn (right side of upper image above) was built to house a large scale animal rescue operation and has driven and informed the axis of the home as well as the vernacular. An exterior porch and trellis system will connect the barn and home physically and visually, yet still provide a degree of separation between private spaces and the rescue shelter.”
