Our design group is using new software to delve into the numbers for high-performance building. This particular image shows wind velocity (m/s) and the resulting air pressure (Pa) in a field around a timber frame home in Austerlitz, NY. Both the red specks and the yellow/red/blue planes are showing air velocity, which in turn allows us to better understand how well our buildings might deal with things like wind-driven moisture, uplift, and air infiltration.
