Over the years we’ve had a great deal of fun with some wood we reclaimed from an old pickle vat farm in Minnesota. Here the staining becomes a playful statement in this custom fir interior door by NEWwoodworks.

Jon and Bee Perkins sent us this image of their table setting just prior to a holiday gathering. When they asked us to design a dining room suite to go with their new home, they mentioned "briskly contemporary, with a top that seems to be floating." We combined steel, wood and leather in the final creation. Labels: new woodworks
NEWwoodworks designed these custom cabinets in Pittsford, New York made of American Gothic white oak. Labels: new woodworks, reclaimed oak
Timbers express structure and craft. Even more so, they herald events and purpose like the framing of this front door designed and built as a team between NEWwoodworks, New Energy Works Design and our timber framers. Labels: new woodworks, reclaimed wood door
This built in banquette is both an elegant and comfortable backdrop to this home's dining area. Our Interiors group designed and NEWwoodworks custom-crafted the cabinetry using antique Jarrah, reclaimed from old woolen mills in Australia. It's topped with a gently curved piece of soapstone. Mark used to belong to the life-of-the-law, but this former lawyer decided to really get his hands dirty with us as a woodworker. Always positive and polite with some amazing wood detailing skills, may we say we're happy he found us! Labels: new woodworks
Cherry sleeper planks salvaged from an old barn find new life as Tina & Harold's dining table, while other reclaimed cherry planks were repurposed into the built in buffet by NEWwoodworks. Labels: new woodworks, reclaimed cherry table

Hello, and thanks for visiting.
For over twenty years,
New Energy Works has been one of the nation's preeminent
timber frame home builders. We offer a range of services
including timberframe design, fine woodworking, timber
frame enclosure services utilizing SIP's and of course,
some of the most elegant and lyrical timber frames in
the industry.
Weve had the
privilege of working with some great clients. Some have
been struggling young couples who want a modest home
in the Finger Lakes region of New York others
have been high-end architects and builders creating
magnificent lodges high in the mountains of Colorado — others still are interested in building in Portland, Oregon, one of the greenest states in the US.
Their common denominator is the love of fine wood, elegant
design, sustainable design and old-world craftsmanship.
We hope that you'll
explore our website and revisit it regularly. In the
years that we've been online, we've found this site
to be an invaluable design resource, one that has evolved
and improved through input from people like you. We
always appreciate your comments - keep in touch.
